To 부정사를 목적어로 취하는 동사, 동명사를 목적어로 취하는 동사
주어 다음에 아래와 같은 동사가 나올 경우 그 뒤에 TO 부정사를 쓴다.
agree, wish, want, hope, desire. decide, refuse, deserve, need, tend, fail, offer, attempt, expect, plan, learn, promise, mange, pretend, afford, hesitate, prefer, ask, propose, intend 등
주어 다음에 아래와 같은 동사가 나올 경우에는 그 뒤에는 동명사를 쓴다.
enjoy, finish, avoid, consider, discontinue, stop, quit, mind, resist, suggest, recommend, postpone, escape, deny, allow, permit, include 등
목적보어 자리에 쓰이는 to 부정사
tell, ask, expect, enable, encourage, teach, instruct, allow, recommend, order, advise. require, request, force, cause, remind, warn, inform, invite + 목적어 + to 부정사
목적어 자리에 있는 명사를 주어로 쓴 수동태 뒤에도 to 부정사가 온다.
